ETD consists of only NUS Master’s (by Research) and Ph.D dissertations online.

Master’s (by Research) and Ph.D students are required to submit their thesis (approved by supervisor(s)) for examination by the maximum period of their candidature. The ETD submission system allows these students to submit their theses electronically to the NUS Graduate School which is a requirement for conferment. The submitted theses in ETD submission system are uploaded to ScholarBank@NUS on a daily basis.

In ScholarBank@NUS , a community is created for ETD . Within this community, 2 sub communities namely “Master’s Theses” and “Ph.D Theses” are created. Within each sub- community, 3 collections are created for Open, NUS restricted and Closed theses.

Access for each collection is as follows:

  • Open: metadata and full-text are accessible worldwide
  • Restricted: metadata and full-text are accessible by NUS staff and students
  • Closed: metadata excluding abstract is accessible worldwide, no full-text access to anyone

Majority of the theses are accessible worldwide.

NUS restricted and closed theses might contain proprietary/confidential information, and they are requested by the authors to be restricted or closed and requests to place them in closed or restricted categories have to be approved by the University.

The scope of collection in ScholarBank@NUS is Master’s (by Research) and Ph.D theses from September 2003 to present (those which are conferred). Issue date refers to the thesis submission date. Users may check the library catalogue (LINC+/LINC) for older theses submitted to NUS Graduate School before September 2003 which are not found in Scholarbank@NUS.

Thesis template of the National University of Singapore (NUS)

This set of LaTeX code (mainly nusthesis.cls ) composes a template of NUS thesis, which is compliant with the university's requirement. Using this template to organize your thesis content can save a lot of effort spent on formatting. Your edit should start with main.tex, which is also the compilation entry. Sources of individual chapters as well as abstract, acknowledgments, appendices, etc., are placed in the chapters folder. Illustrative figures and analytical plottings should be stored in the pic and exp folders respectively. Please refer to the GitHub repository for more details as well as timely updates.
