About SEBA class 10

Close to 3.5 lakh students appear every year in the class 10 examination also known as the HSLC examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA). Like SEBA class 9, the examination is conducted in different languages like English, Assamese etc and it is usually held in the month of February or March.

The SEBA class 10 syllabus has been categorised by the board as First Language (Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Bodo, Manipuri, Khasi, Garo, Hmar, Mizo, Urdu, Nepali), Second Language (English, English – IL), Core Subjects (General Science, General Mathematics, History, Geography, Political Science, Economics), and Elective subjects (Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Manipuri, Nepali, Hindi, Adv. Mathematics, History, Geography, Sanskrit, Computer Science, Wood Craft, Music, Dance, Fine Art, Weaving and Textile Design, Garment Designing, Home Science, Santhali, Arabic, Persian, Commerce, Karbi).

Details of SEBA HSLC results: 2021

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, SEBA cancelled board exams in Assam in 2021. However, SEBA held a special exam for students who were dissatisfied with the results, which were based on the internal evaluation. According to reports, 22,836 students applied for the special exam. However, only 19,305 students showed up to take the offline exam.

The overall pass percentage was 93.10 per cent. There were 88,521 students in the first division, 1,60,298 in the second division, and 1,48,313 in the third division. A total of 3,97,132 students were declared successful. A total of 4,26,553 students were eligible for the exams.

Local bus: high speed – middle of the road – jeep braked to avoid

collision – swerved – hit a tree and overturned. Jeep Driver Ananta Das (35 years) killed instantly – 3 injured – hospitalized.

A TRAGIC ROAD ACCIDENT KILLED ONE IN GUWAHATI, THREE INJURED SONAPUR:

On .12.02.2005 a road accident occurred at Sonapur, which is located 25 KMs away from Guwahati, at around 6.35 P.M. According to eyewitness accounts, a local bus was speeding in the middle of the road, causing the jeep to break abruptly to avoid a collision. The jeep then swerved and hit a tree, causing it to overturn. Tragically, the driver of the jeep, Ananta Das, aged 35 , was killed instantly. Three others who were in the jeep at the time of the accident sustained injuries and were hospitalized. The exact cause of the accident is yet to be determined, but it is evident that it was a result of reckless driving on the part of the bus driver. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for stricter regulations to prevent such accidents from occurring in the future.

FOUR ROBBERS LOOTED FIFTEEN LAKHS FROM UBI, SONAPUR BRANCH.

On 8.02.2009 a daring robbery took place at the United Bank Branch in Sonapur, which is located 25 km away from Guwahati, at around 11:30 AM. According to eyewitness accounts, four armed robbers arrived in a jeep and looted a sum of fifteen lakhs from the bank. During the robbery, the cashier resisted the robbers and was shot at, sustaining injuries. The robbers managed to escape from the scene before the police arrived.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the town, and the police have launched a thorough investigation to bring the culprits to justice. So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the robbery. The police are appealing to the public for any information that could help in the investigation.

This brazen act of criminality serves as a stark reminder of the need for better security measures to be put in place at banks and financial institutions. It is hoped that the perpetrators of this heinous crime will be apprehended soon and brought to justice.

Guwahati, 21st Nov ; “Books are the mirrors of the society.” said Hon’ble Governor XYZ inaugurating the glorious book fair of Guwahati which began yesterday with new glazing. According to the organizing committee, more than 164 Publishers from Assam and other states like West Bengal, Punjab, Delhi, and Chhattisgarh etc. are participating in the book fair. On the inaugural day, three books of three eminent writers were unveiled by the Governor. On the very first day there was a heavy rush of book lovers. To see the response from the public, the organizing committee as well as the publishers were excited. Prominent author Dr. Saber Sharma commented that that was a good sign for the culture.

FIRE TOOK A TROLL, SEVERAL LACS OF PROPERTY IN ASHES.

Guwahati, 6th Feb; A devastating fire pit the locals in panic yesternight at Athgaon, when they found themselves between blaze of fire midnight. The fire took its spark from a nearby go down, which might be triggered by an electronic short circuit, as per prima facie suspect. As the go down stored dry hays, it caused the fire to spread within minutes. The locals immediately rang to the Fire Brigade and Athgaon Police Chowki. The Fire Fighters, playing with their life took the situation in control. The locals, with the help of police, rescued the women and the children and took them to safe places. Before the fire could be doused fully, it had burnt down the go down completely. Several other adjacent shops and private residences were also taken down, amounting a damage of several lacs of rupees.

SEVERE FLOOD CONDITION IN MAJULI, MANY VILLAGES UNDER WATER

Staff Reporter, Majuli, 13th Aug ; Many villages are drastically affected in the recent flood situation in Majuli causing numerous loss of lives and assets.Reportedly the flood occurred due to the breach of the embankment of the Brahmaputra due to a heavy current triggered by the flood water from Arunachal hills. Acers of land are drowned in water including villages and paddy fields. Government has directed the district administration to do speedy rescue operations and to provide relief materials. However due to the adversity of the flood, the government aid seems insufficient. Private NGOs are playing active roles to meet the shortfall and providing all sorts of possible supports.

THE GLORIOUS BOOK FAIR OF GUWAHATI BEGAN

Guwahati, 10th Nov; “Books are the mirrors of the society.” said Hon’ble Chief Minister XYZ inaugurating the glorious book fair of Guwahati which began yesterday with new glazing. At about 6 PM, he lighted candle in the opening ceremony. According to the organizing committee, Publishers from Assam and other states like West Bengal, Punjab, Delhi, and Chhattisgarh etc. are participating in the book fair. On the very first day there was a heavy rush of book lovers. To see the response from the public, the organizing committee as well as the publishers were excited. Prominent author Dr.Saber Sharma commented that that was a good sign for the culture. The book fair shall continue for ten days.

More  than  30,000  hectares  of  paddy  fields  have  been  submerged  and  damaged  .  Rescue  operation has been going on  in  full swing  and  army  soldiers  have  been  called  in  and  pressed  into  service  to  help  the  civil  authorities  .  Rescued  people  have  been  sheltered  at  several  relief  camps  .  Both  government  and  non-government  organizations  have  been  providing  relief  to  the  affected  people.
