Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or Applied Research Methods, and three (3) months of experience in job offered or in any occupation in a related field.

The NYC Department of Probation (DOP) is a world leader in working creatively and effectively engaging with people under court-mandated community supervision. Following the best current data on “what works,” staff at DOP engage in meaningful relationships with those on probation in an effort to enhance community safety and decrease recidivism. The Research Associate, under direction and supervision by the Senior Director for Research & Assessment, is responsible for designing and executing research projects that are necessary to monitor and evaluate various operational and policy initiatives launched by DOP. These initiatives fall into a broad range of areas, including but not limited to risk-needs assessment, graduated responses, community engagement, and structured decision-making; and cut across the agency’s three core services in both juvenile and adult operations. Position Summary
The Cognitive Development & Neuroimaging Laboratory (CDNL), also known as the Marsh Lab, in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, conducts research projects that focus on understanding the neurodevelopmental trajectories of psychiatric disorders that arise during childhood and adolescence. CDNL uses multimodal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to study the functioning and structure of neural circuits that support the capacity to self-regulate one’s thoughts, actions, and urges, and the circuits that support learning and memory. CDNL is seeking a project coordinator to facilitate a clinical trial examining the use of a cognitive control training program for children (ages 8-12) with obsessive-compulsive disorder. They will support Principal Investigators, Drs Rachel Marsh, Kate Fitzgerald, and David Pagliaccio, and the research team in the successful implementation of clinical research activities. The incumbent will lead recruitment, collect clinical, behavioral and MRI data, manage participant flow, and oversee study-related administrative activity and regulatory compliance. The selected candidate will also be responsible for data organization, quality assurance, and analyses with opportunities to publish conference abstracts and papers. Candidates must have a strong interest and/or experience in cognitive neuroscience research, particularly in developmental populations (children and adolescents). The incumbent must have occasional flexibility in their schedule (working evenings/weekends).
Responsibilities
- Coordinate a clinical trial, including managing participant recruitment, screening, consenting, and scheduling participants for their evaluation and study day.
- Assist with the development and oversight of a clinical trial, including co-writing study proposals and amendments to the IRB, gathering and writing study materials, and developing REDCap for data collection.
- Lead MRI scan visits, including preparing participants for the MRI scan, acquiring MRI data while maintaining clinical sensitivity to comfort levels/needs of child participants, and assisting with data transfer and quality assurance.
- Manage and monitor the database, including entering any paper data, checking for completeness, errors, and tracking participant flow.
- Assist with presentation of research data, including assisting with data analyses, preparing talks, posters, and manuscripts, and completing independent research projects for potential presentation at conferences.
- Ensure compliance with IRB requirements and conduct regulatory monitoring reviews of participant data.
- Coordinate and lead weekly meetings with research team.
- Assist with training research volunteers and oversee their day-to-day work.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Experience handling animals is required, including dissections and microsurgeries. Experience working with animal models of auditory processing or neurological diseases is preferred. Familiarity with electrophysiological measures and micro-surgical methods in animal models is preferred. We are willing to teach protocols for inducing noise-damage in animal models, methods of evaluating hearing function, specialized surgical methods, molecular biology, biochemistry, histology, and tissue preparation.

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Join our team as an Associate Director, Research Finance Management! The role s upports programmatic initiatives and management of responsibilities of the Research Financial Management (RFM) Unit within the Office of Research and Project Administration. You will partner with key stakeholders within the division and across units at MSK. Serve as liaison and partner to faculty leadership of departments and divisions. This Associate Director position will support MSK research units that focus upon clinical research.
Role Overview:
- Monitor and provide strategic leadership and consult upon policy matters for the unit. Establish the control environment for central post-award grant and financial management of sponsored funding at MSK.
- Ensuring compliance with internal policies and sponsor regulations, finding opportunities, and fostering innovation to establish standard processes.
- Lead and coach individuals in the Manager, Research Financial Management, role with the aim to ensure consistency and quality of service delivery to investigators and other key stakeholders.

Key Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in a related field; preferably a research administration environment performing duties similar to the above

- In-depth knowledge of sponsored research regulations and policy. Ability to translate that knowledge to others through coaching, mentorship, and standard operating procedures
