Maharshi Dayanand University, ab initio established as Rohtak University, Rohtak, came into existence by an Act No. 25 of 1975 of the Haryana Legislative Assembly in 1976 with the objective to promote inter-disciplinary higher education and research in the fields of environmental, ecological and life sciences. It was rechristened as Maharshi Dayanand University in 1977 after the name of a great visionary and social reformer, Maharshi Dayanand. It had a unitary and residential character in its nascent stage, but became an affiliating University in November 1978. The University secured the recognition of University Grants Commission – the higher education regulatory body of India - for central Govt. grants in 16 Mar, 1979.   The University is located at Rohtak in the state of Haryana - about 75 kms from Delhi on Delhi-Hisar National Highway (NH-10), and is about 240 kms from Chandigarh, the State Capital. It is well connected both by rail as well as road. Rohtak is the education hub of the State with excellent facilities for education in all fields of knowledge.   The University campus, spreadover an area of 622 acres, is well laid with state-of-the-art buildings and magnificent road network, presents a spectacle of harmony in architecture and natural beauty. Educational and research programmes are offered through its 38 departments. There are as many as 12 Teaching Blocks, 19 Hostels, an elegant Vivekananda Library with 6 off-shoots, the majestic Tagore Auditorium equipped with modern gadgetry and amenities, spectacular Students Activity Centre, Campus School, Health Centre, Faculty House, Sports Stadium, Swimming Pool, Multipurpose Gymnasium Hall, Community Centre, Printing Press, Canteens, Shopping Complex and an Administrative Block. About 550 residential units are available for the faculty members and non-teaching staff. There is a very robust Campus Wide Network – an amalgam of cable and wi-fi technologies, with 1Gbps internet connectivity. A serene `Yajanshala’ addresses the spiritual and health needs of the campus community. Branches of State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank and Central Co-operative Bank are the other facilities available on the Campus.

MDU Rohtak PhD and URS Admission – Maharshi Dayanand University invites online application from eligible candidates for admission to PhD Program And Award of University Research Scholarship (URS) for the academic session 2022-23.

Important dates.

• Opening Date of Registration : 10th November 2022
• Last date for submission of online application form : 24th November 2022
• Schedule of Entrance Tests: 12th, 13th to 14th December 2022
• Display of Final Merit List : 22nd December 2022

Eligibility Criteria

For PhD Program

• A candidate seeking admission to the Ph.D. Program must satisfy the following relevant academic criteria:
• Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent B grade in UGC seven-point scale in the subject concerned or in an allied subject.
• For Management Sciences – Master’s Degree or any other degree recognized equivalent thereto in (a) Business Administration or Economics or Commerce or in allied subjects with at least 55% marks OR  Post Graduate Diploma in Management recognized equivalent to MBA by AICTE with 55% marks or its equivalent B grade in UGC seven-point scale. OR
• Candidates with Qualifications as laid down in (ii) shall also be eligible for pursuing Ph.D. in Economics/Commerce. OR
• M.Phil. degree (regular mode only and as per UGC norms) or a recognized equivalent degree beyond Master’s degree level with at least 55% marks or its equivalent B grade in UGC seven-point scale in the concerned or allied subject.
• Note: The eligibility will be 50% or an equivalent grade for SC/ST/Differently abled candidates of the Haryana State only.

Candidates exempted from Entrance Test

• The candidates who have qualified UGC / CSIR /JRF/NET/GATE (for engineering only)/ GPAT (for Pharmaceutical Sciences only) or any other similar examination/SLET (Haryana State) as the case may be.
• Candidates who are teacher fellowship holders/awardees of the fellowship by the DST (INSPIRE), ICMR, ICSSR or any other equivalent national level fellowship.
• Candidates who have passed Ph.D. course work/M.Phil. from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak.

For University Research Scholarship (URS)

• Candidates eligible for admission to Ph. D. program can apply for the award of URS.
• Candidates who are already registered in the Ph.D. program can also apply for the award of URS.
• URS will be awarded to the candidates higher in merit and who are eligible for registration or already registered to Ph. D. programme.
• Candidates already awarded with JRF (entitled for Research Fellowship)/ awardee of teacher fellowship/ awardee of the fellowship by the DST (INSPIRE), ICMR or any other equivalent national level fellowship will not be eligible for URS.

• Eligible Candidates can apply online through the official website http://mdu.ac.in/
• The candidates are advised to read the Prospectus carefully before filling the online Application Form. Incomplete application forms shall summarily be rejected.
• Candidates are advised to read through the detailed online application procedure available on the website.

Application Fee

• For General Category : Rs. 1000/-
• For SC/BC of Haryana State only : Rs. 250/-
• Mode of Payment : Online through Debit Card/Net banking only.

Selection Process

• The merit list of candidates seeking admission to PhD Program & award of URS shall be prepared by the Department according to the following criteria:-
• 70% marks of the percentage of marks obtained in the entrance test. OR
• Weightage of 50 marks to those candidates who have passed JRF.  OR
• Weightage of 45 marks to those candidates who have passed NET/ GATE (for Engineering only)/ GPAT (for Pharmaceutical Sciences only)/SLET (Haryana State only). OR
• Weightage of 40 marks to those candidates who have passed M.Phil./Ph.D. course work examination of Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak.

MDU Rohtak Admission 2024 Quick Updates

MDU Rohtak admission 2024 is now open. Interested candidates can fill out the MDU Rohtak application form on the official website at mdu.ac.in. Other important updates for MD University admissions are as follows:

• Online Applications are invited for BTech LEET. Application forms will be available from Sept 6 to Sept 15, 2024 and the application fee is INR 1000 for Gen category and INR 700 for SC/ SCD/BC/PH/FF/ESM/KM/Girls. Counselling for the same will be conducted on Sept 13, 14 & 15.
• Physical counselling against vacant seats in M.Lib.I.Sc. will be held on Aug 27, 2024. Admitted candidates must pay the fees on Aug 28, 2024 through online mode.
• Physical Counselling for B.P.Ed will be conducted on Aug 29, 2024 and the last date of submission of online fee is Aug 30, 2024.
• Online applications are invited for admission to MSc in Environmental Science, Mathematics (SFS), Statistics, Environmental Biotechnology, MBA, and MBA (Executive). The last date to submit online application forms is Aug 28, 2024. The merit list will be displayed on Aug 29, 2024 and physical counselling will be held on the same date, followed by online fee submission on Aug 30, 2024.
• Applications are invited for DPEd, BEd, MEd, BEd Spl Edu, and MEd Spl Edu courses and the last date of submitting application forms is Aug 30, 2024. Entrance Test for DPEd (PET) will be conducted on Sept 2 and the merit list will be displayed on Sept 3, 2024. Moreover, the 1 st , 2 nd , and 3 rd  counselling for DPEd will be conducted on Sept 4, 6 & 9 respectively.

Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak offers UG, PG, and Doctoral programs in the disciplines of Commerce, Law, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Education, Life Sciences, Engineering & Technology, etc. Admissions to all the programs are conducted online on the official website of the University. MDU Rohtak Admission to UG programs is based on merit in the qualifying examination and Entrance exam conducted by the university. However, the University also accepts scores of National level entrance examinations such as JEE Main for B.Tech. Apart from regular courses, MDU Rohtak also offers education through distance learning mode. Directorate of Distance Education, Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU DDE) offers various UG and PG programs in selected specializations. Admission to the distance edication courses is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination. Candidates should have passed 10+2 from a recognized board for admission to bachelor degree courses and must have completed graduate degree in order to apply for postgraduate courses.

Interested candidates can register for admission to courses offered by MDU CEE through the official university website. Candidates should fill the online application form and submit the application fees through e-challan at any branch of Punjab National Bank or Axis Bank. MDU students enrolling for PG program need to perform different steps while filling the application form as compared to students from other board or university. Candidates should send the application form along with requisite documents to:

To apply for MDU Rohtak Admission, follow the below-mentioned steps:

• Visit https://mduadmission.samarth.edu.in/
• Click on “New Registration”.
• Register by providing all the required details. Create a Password
• Now click the “Login” button.
• Login using your Registered email-id and password.
• Fill out the Application form by providing all the required details.
• Pay the application fee using a Credit/Debit card or Net banking option of any bank.
• Submit the Application form, take the printout, and keep it for future reference.

Application Fee

• Processing charges for the application form for admission are Rs.1000/- for General Category candidates and Rs. 250/- for SC/DSC/BC/Differently Abled candidates (Haryana only). The SC/DSC/ST/BC/OBC candidates belonging to States other than Haryana will be treated as General Category candidates. 
• A Candidate may apply for admission to as many programs as he/she wants. A separate application form for admission to each additional program shall be required to be filled after paying Rs. 200/- (Rs. 50/- for SC/DSC/BC/Differently Abled candidates for Haryana only) per additional program.

• Detailed Marks Card (DMC) of the qualifying examination 
• Character Certificate from the Institute last attended 
• Certificate of Reserved Category and other related certificates, if applicable
• Latest Income Certificate issued by the competent authority of the Haryana Govt
• Haryana Resident Certificate, if applicable. 
• Documentary proof in support of respective Supernumerary category, if applicable.

Ans. Yes, MDU is a State University established under Haryana Act No.XXV of 1975 and approved under UGC 2f and 12-B also (‘A+ ’ Grade University Accredited by NAAC) 

Ques.What is the minimum eligibility to apply for UG Program at MDU Rohtak?  

Ans. The minimum eligibility criteria to apply for UG Program at MDU Rohtak is that the applicant must pass 10+2 in the relevant discipline from a recognized University.

Ques. Is it possible to apply for admission to a program at MDU Rohtak before the declaration of the result of the qualifying exam? 

Ans. Yes, it is possible to apply for admission to a program at MDU Rohtak since admissions are based on the entrance test. However, the candidate should submit a copy of the mark sheet of the qualifying exam before the due date intimated by the institute. Failure to submit may lead to cancellation of candidature.

Ans. Yes, the fee is to be paid online as per the given schedule, failing to do so may result in cancellation of candidature.

Ques.Is there any facility for payment of the program fee in installments at MDU Rohtak? 

Ans. As of now, there is no provision for payment of fees in installments/parts. You will be required to pay the full annual fee for the MDU Rohtak program during admission.

• Faculty is cooperative and so good with the students.
• Campus is small but decent and gardening is good.
• placement cell does not work up to the mark.
• Canteen is not good and food quality is also terrible.

I have chosen this college because it was near to my house and also it provides one of the best faculties in faridabad. This college provides good library and labs infrastructure. College is affiliated to MDU which is A+ university.

• The college do not have any hard and fast rule for having a minimum attendance

I applied for Nsut and IP University, i did get into some colleges but the course i was getting is not as per my liking and the fees was out of my affordablity There's no procedure to get into this college all you need to do is fill admission form and submit the first year fee.

If I talk about why did I choose this college?Because this college offered the codes which was the economics and marketing and which was not offered by the other colleges as it is a new course. The crowd is better than other colleges. And also I do like it teachers they have enough knowledge and qualified.

• Clerks of the college are very supportive
• Teachers also support those students who wants to grow themselves
• Classes are not well managed even proper lighting is not provided in the classes
• There is not proper internship and placements opportunities for students

I also applied for the kurukshetra University and I also get selected for it but my parent denied so I cancel it only one reason is there to take admission in this college that it is near to my house and I can go easily daily.
